Life Coaching Overview.....What is it? And why is it useful?

What Is Life Coaching

Life Coaching is the practice of a Coach supporting an individual, to overcome barriers, achieve goals, and perform in life at their optimum level. Coaching differs from counselling in that the client is generally well and the practice is solution focused. The coaching relationship enables the client to specify a particular goal that they want to achieve or challenge that the want to overcome, in order to enhance their lives. While the coaching methodologies and strategies are numerous, the Coach generally discusses at length with a client what they want to achieve, and implements strategies that are best suited to motivating the client.

  1. This is also why goals which you set as "I'm not going to", or "I don't want to do x", are rarely successful, you try so hard not to do something, and because you are constantly focusing on the thing that you don't want to do your unconscious goes and gets if for you.
